Version 2026-11-v1 · Effective 1 November 2026

Shrameek keeps some of your information on your phone and some on our secure servers. This notice explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Shrameek mobile app and website.

1. What we collect

  • Your name, mobile number, address and landmark, age and year of birth.
  • Your Aadhaar number — stored encrypted on your device only and never sent to our servers.
  • ID and business documents, your profile photo, an optional video introduction, and work photos that you add.
  • Your GPS location when you post a job, punch attendance, or choose to appear in the worker directory.
  • Your UPI ID, and wage and payment records. Payment proof photos you upload are shared with the other party to that payment and with Shrameek support when needed.
  • Chat messages, grievances, ratings and notifications.

Your trusted contacts stay on your device only.

2. Why we use it

  • To match workers with contractors.
  • To verify attendance at a job site.
  • To arrange and record wage payments.
  • To resolve disputes.
  • To keep users safe and prevent fraud.
  • So that Shrameek admins can verify your identity and business documents.

4. 18 and over only

Shrameek is only for people aged 18 or older. We ask for your year of birth when you sign up and cannot create an account for anyone under 18.

5. Who can see your data, and our processors

The other person on a job (the worker or the contractor) sees only limited profile details, such as your name, photo, skills, rating and verification status.

Shrameek admins can view your documents in order to verify you, and every such access is logged.

We use these service providers (processors) to run Shrameek:

  • Razorpay — payments
  • Backblaze B2 — storage of documents, photos and videos
  • Neon — our database
  • Render — hosting of our servers
  • OpenStreetMap tile servers — map images on the live-tracking screen

We do not sell your data. Calls use your phone’s own dialer; Shrameek does not record or store calls.

6. Where your data is stored (transfers outside India)

Documents, photos and videos are stored with Backblaze B2 in the United States. Our database is hosted with Neon in Singapore, and our servers run on Render. Map tiles on the live-tracking screen are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive your device’s IP address and the map area you view. When you search for a place, your search words are sent through our servers to a map-search provider (OpenStreetMap Nominatim or Geoapify); they are not linked to your account. By consenting, you agree to your data being transferred to and stored in these places outside India.

7. How we protect it

The database on your phone is encrypted. All traffic to our servers uses TLS with certificate pinning. Your PIN is stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text. Data on our servers is stored encrypted.

8. How long we keep it

Your account data is deleted or anonymised after an approved deletion request. Financial and ledger records are kept in a pseudonymised form for 8 years to meet legal requirements.

9. Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct it or erase it; make a grievance and have it addressed; and nominate another person to exercise your rights for you if you cannot. Contact us at contact@shrameek.com.

You can also request account deletion in Settings. An admin reviews every request; your account stays fully active until then, and you can cancel the request at any time before it is reviewed.

10. If something goes wrong

If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires, and explain what happened and what you can do.

11. Live location while travelling to a shift

Purpose. When you tap “I’m on my way” for a confirmed shift, Shrameek shares your live position with that shift’s contractor, so they can see you are coming and when you will arrive.

Who sees it. Only the contractor of that shift. No one else.

What is stored. Only your latest position. Each new position replaces the last one. No location history is kept anywhere.

How long. It is deleted when you arrive, when you stop sharing, or after 6 hours at most.

Your choice. This is optional and stays off until you agree. You can stop at any time. To withdraw your consent, go to Settings → Privacy & Consent in the app; your shared location is then deleted straight away.

12. Changes to this policy

This is version 2026-11-v1, effective 1 November 2026. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app and ask for your consent again before it applies to you.
